What Are Twitch Emotes?
Twitch emotes are small images (28×28, 56×56, or 112×112 pixels) that Twitch viewers and subscribers use in chat to express reactions and emotions. Emotes can be static PNG images or animated GIFs. Twitch Affiliates can upload 1-5 custom subscriber emotes, while Partners get up to 60. What Are Discord Emotes?

What Are Twitch Sub Badges?
Twitch sub badges are small icons (18×18, 36×36, 72×72 pixels) that appear next to a subscriber’s name in chat. They show how long someone has been subscribed — from 1 month to multiple years. Each tier gets a unique badge design, creating a visual loyalty progression. Sub badges are PNG files with transparent backgrounds.
What Are Twitch Channel Point Icons?
Channel point icons are custom images that replace the default Twitch channel point symbol. Streamers can upload custom icons (112×112 pixels, PNG) to match their channel branding. Channel points are earned by viewers through watching streams, and can be redeemed for custom rewards set by the streamer.
What Are Stream Overlays?
Stream overlays are graphical elements that appear on top of a streamer’s video feed. They include webcam frames, alert boxes, chat widgets, scene transitions, starting/ending screens, and background images. Overlays help create a professional, branded stream layout. They come in PNG (static) or animated formats for use in OBS, Streamlabs, or other broadcasting software.
What Are Premade Emotes?
Premade emotes are pre-designed emote packs available for instant purchase and download — as opposed to custom commissions which require weeks of back-and-forth with an artist. Premade emotes come in all required platform sizes, with transparent backgrounds, ready to upload immediately. They are significantly more affordable than custom commissions, typically costing 3-10 EUR for a full pack of 12-50 emotes compared to 50-200+ EUR for custom work.
What Sizes Do Twitch Emotes Need to Be?
Twitch requires emotes in three sizes: 28×28 pixels (chat size), 56×56 pixels (mid-size), and 112×112 pixels (full size). All files must be PNG format with transparent backgrounds, under 1MB each. Twitch automatically displays the appropriate size based on the viewer’s screen and chat settings. Sub badges require 18×18, 36×36, and 72×72 pixels.
